Ordering
I ordered the Casper sheets before they were in stock so the arrival date was an estimate. The expected delivery date was before Christmas. a week after ordering I was notified that flooding in India had delayed the manufacturing and would most likely arrive after Christmas. As an apology, Casper credited me $25 of the purchase price of the sheets! They retail for $150 so this was a generous discount. To my surprise, when they received they sheets, they sent them to me 2nd day air and they arrived on December 23rd.
Unboxing
Casper makes unboxing their products a fun experience and this was no exception. Who would have thought unboxing sheets would feel like opening a toy?
Findings
First the positives. These sheets have quality stitching and they should hold up very well over time.
The tags at both the top and bottom are actually kind of useful.
The fitted sheets grip very well to the mattress.
The deign, fit and look of these sheets are amazing. However, the overall feel of these sheets leave a little to be desired. The percale stitching makes them very breathable but for $150 I expected a more crisp and higher end feel. They are made with supima cotton which is cotton grown in the United States, Australia, Peru and a few other places.
Conclusion
These sheets will look great on a bed in a box style mattress and they feel good too. However, for $150 I think you’re better off with a set of sheets from SOL Organics. They have unrivaled quality and are organic to boot! Their sheets are also less expensive than Casper sheets. For comparison the Casper Sheet thread count is 200 while the SOL has a 300 count. As I have said in other blog posts, thread count isn’t everything but it is a little telling.
